Translated from the original in German published in 1980 under the title "Eine gutes Schwein bleibt nicht allein". In good condition/ NO dust jacket. Glossy black illustrated Paper over Boards have a 1/2" nick to the paper over the bottom corner of the front cover, and a small nick to the paper over the middle of the front hinge of the spine. Bumping to the top edge of the back cover as well and light overall scuffing to covers as well. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Pictures by Almut Gernhardt with verses by Robert Gernhardt translated by Kathrine Talbot. Charming full color illustrations. Robert Gernhardt (1937 - 2006) was a German poet, writer, and cartoonist known for his satirical and humorous works. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, he later moved to Germany, where he studied painting and German studies. Gernhardt was a prominent figure in German literary and artistic circles, contributing to satirical magazines such as Pardon and Titanic. His poetry and prose often combined wit with philosophical depth, making him a key voice in postwar German literature. Almut Gernhardt (Ullrich) (1940 - 1989) was an artist and illustrator, best known for her collaborations with Robert Gernhardt, particularly in children's books. Her work often features surreal and whimsical elements, blending realism with fantasy.
