Synopsis

"Words are powerful. They could hurt or they can heal."

Author Shari Lawder has created a fun and charming book about a grasshopper and his very best friend, who happens to be a bumblebee.

This illustrated children's book is for boys and girls to raise awareness of bullying, or for those who have visible physical differences. You'll encounter a shy, quiet grasshopper; a caring, friendly bumblebee; a not so friendly grasshopper; a patient spider; and a very helpful hummingbird.

A shy grasshopper moves to a new meadow facing what could be a difficult time to meet new friends. Events of different personalities come to focus on acceptance and physical differences. Facts about each type of character have been blended into a story of friendship and acceptance rather than appearance and bullying.

This story is to help acknowledge that we may look different on the outside, but we are the same on the inside. Be kind.
