Synopsis
Through signs and divinations, the Goddess has warned the druids of evil to come. But she has made a promise too: an untimely comet will announce the birth of one who shall stem the tide. So the druids watch the skies and wait for the boy who will protect them. One brilliant night, a shower of stars dances across the midnight sky. The Goddess keeps her promise and a child is born - but not the boy that the druids expect. Raven-haired and green-eyed, the baby girl's name is Tegen - and she is the Star Dancer. Throughout her childhood, Tegen is denied by the oldest and most honoured of the druids but as his own life fades, he finally accepts the truth. Now Tegen must leave her old life and learn the ways of the druids. While a ruthless enemy plots to destroy the Star Dancer, and let evil out...

Beth Webb loves to write stories based on real places or events, intertwined with traditional folk legends. With a degree in Sociology and Psychology, and having previously worked as a journalist, Beth has most recently been involved with the conception of Making Magic Happen, an Open College of Arts distance learning course in creative writing for children, for which Beth wrote and illustrated the course book. She also works as a performance storyteller. Beth lives in Somerset.
