Raising awareness of other cultures may be an objective of a course; or readers may have noticed issues in their courses which they suspect may be 'cultural' in some sense. They may be interested in setting up intercultural contacts between students and others; or they may be engaging with issues of the modern global context such as internationalization of curriculum, global flows of students and educators, cultural diversity and more inclusive admission policies. This book contains theoretical rationale, resources and examples to assist both teachers and administrators in understanding and tackling such situations.

Biographie de l'auteur :

DAVID PALFREYMAN is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Teaching and Learning at Zayed University, United Arab Emirates. Previously he worked with students and educators in Turkey and in the UK, and also taught in Italy and Spain. He is the editor, with Richard C. Smith, of Learner Autonomy Across Cultures, (Palgrave Macmillan, 2003).

DAWN LORRAINE McBRIDE is in private practice as a Psychologist, and also teaches as an Assistant Professor at the University of Lethbridge, Canada, specializing in cross-cultural issues relating to counselling and teaching. She formerly taught in the United Arab Emirates.
