Kennard affixed to front pastedown (uncredited illustrator but bookplate with stylistically intriguing b/w design featuring radiant southwest Indian figural sun positioned above a hilltop adobe pueblo); interior leaves are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A Franz Boas protege, Dr. Edward Kennard was Federal Writers' Project editor of the "Indians" and "Archeology" sections of the American Guide Series from 1936-1938 before moving to Arizona to further study Hopi culture.
