Rita Charon is Professor of Clinical Medicine and founder and Executive Director of the Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University. She is the author of a large number of journal articles and books on narrative medicine, including, most recently, Principles and Practice of Narrative Medicine (Oxford, 2017).
