Synopsis
The taking of hostages has become a familiar event in the world's headlines, but news coverage naturally tends to focus on the individual event itself rather than the broader picture and its implications. À propos de l'auteur
John C. Griffiths previous publications include Afghanistan: A History of Conflict (Andre Deutsch, new edition 2001). A Cambridge graduate, he led the first post-war overland expedition to Afghanistan in 1957 and he has been a close follower of the country's affairs ever since. A co-founder of the Open University, he is now a full-time writer and runs Minerva Vision, an arts/ docu-based independent TV production company.
