TIM WINTON was born in Perth, Australia, in 1960. He has published 19 books for adults and children. A three-time winner of the Miles Franklin Award and a finalist twice for the Booker Prize (The Riders in 1995 and Dirt Music in 2002), Winton is the author of many bestsellers (Dirt Music sold over 250,000 copies in Australia) loved by critics and readers the world over.
