Nice copy in dustwrapper. The dedication copy ("For Hugh and Mirabel Cecil"), inscribed by the author on the title-page, "Hugh & Mirabel with love from the author Max May 1993"; loosely inserted a presentation autograph correspondence card signed from him, 10 May, and a news-cutting of the London Evening Standard's review (by A. N. Wilson), 20 May - "This is an extremely subtle, moving moral tale . . . one of those novels to which I shall return for second and third readings. I feel it has enlarged my sympathies." Max and Caroline Egremont were in turn the dedicatees of the Cecils' 2012 biography In Search of Rex Whistler. N° de réf. du vendeur 35M100089
