Originally published in hard covers by Collins in the UK and Random House in the US in 1956. The boards have bumping to the corners and some light edge and surface wear. Page edges are browned with some marking. Half-title page stuck to the front pastedown. Library stamp to the copyright page. There is a one inch tape mark at the centre of the rear pastedown with some pen marks to the rear free endpaper. The pages are a little browned with light stains in a few places but they are otherwise unmarked. Jacket has a small closed tear at the top of the front flap and some light edge and surface wear.
