He arrived in the city of London at the beginning of the last Yearly Meeting, and after attending that meeting travelled northward, visiting the Quarterly Meetings of Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamtonshire, Oxfordshire and Worcestershire, and divers particular meetings in his way. He visited many meetings on the west side of this county, also some in Lancashire and Westmoreland, from whence he came to our Quarterly Meeting in the last ninth month ;and though much out of health, yet was enabled to attend all the sittings of that meeting except the last.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book chronicles the life and spiritual journey of a man deeply rooted in his Quaker faith, navigating the complexities of 18th-century America. Born into a family of modest means, the author details his early encounters with divine grace and the internal struggles he faced as a young adult. Seeking a path of simplicity and integrity, he embarks on numerous journeys throughout the American colonies, driven by a profound concern for the well-being of others, especially those marginalized and oppressed. The author's travels expose him to the harsh realities of slavery and the stark contrast between the affluent lifestyle of slaveholders and the arduous labor of those they enslave. His unwavering commitment to his faith leads him to challenge societal norms, advocating for social justice and equality. He grapples with the ethical implications of participating in a society that thrives on the exploitation of others, leading him to question conventional practices of trade and consumption. Through introspection and reflection, he embraces a life of self-denial, simplicity, and compassion, seeking to align his actions with his spiritual beliefs. This book delves into themes of faith, social justice, and the pursuit of a meaningful life in a world rife with inequality. The author's introspective reflections and unwavering dedication to his principles offer timeless insights into the complexities of human existence and the transformative power of living in accordance with one's convictions. His journey serves as a testament to the enduring relevance of his message, urging readers to examine their own values and the impact of their choices on the world around them.
