It revolves around the themes of marriage, trust, and the consequences of jealousy. The play centers on Jorge, a husband who begins to suspect his wife, Sofia, of infidelity after he spots her frequently visiting their neighbor, Clara. Jorge confides in his friend Julio, who is also married to Clara. Julio, however, is a womanizer who has been secretly pursuing an affair with a woman named Casiana. As the play progresses, Jorge's suspicions grow, and he begins to spy on Sofia. Meanwhile, Clara, motivated by jealousy and a desire to control her friend's life, encourages Sofia to distrust her husband. The situation escalates when Jorge discovers a letter from Casiana to Julio, which he believes is intended for him. In a confrontation between the four characters, the truth is revealed. Julio confesses his infidelity, and Clara is exposed as a manipulative and insecure woman. Jorge and Sofia, on the other hand, reaffirm their love and commitment, realizing that trust and open communication are essential for a healthy marriage. This thought-provoking play explores the destructive power of jealousy and the importance of honesty and transparency in relationships. It offers a cautionary tale about the dangers of letting suspicion and doubt poison love and trust.
