Synopsis
"The Dictionary of Cleveland Biography", is the first major biographical guide to Cleveland published since the 1920s. Unlike all previous compilations, it presents a broad coverage of the city, reflecting its ethnic and economic diversity. Containing over 1600 biographical sketches, the "Dictionary" details the accomplishments and family histories of Clevelanders, ranging from Almeda Adams, a blind woman who helped establish the renowned Cleveland Music School Settlement, to Norman Zapf, who designed one of the nation's first streamlined locomotives. The individuals included in this remarkable volume achieved prominence in endeavors ranging from neighborhood leadership to national politics.
