My chief sources of infonnation for the following short sketch of a memorable life are soon told. First among them stand the Memoirs of the Life of the JR ev. C, Simeon, by the Eev. William Cams, formerly Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, and till recently Canon Residentiary of Winchester; Mr Simeon sintimate friend, his curate, and his successor in Trinity Church, This book, first published in 1846, must be the leading authority upon Simeon slife and work so long as his name is remembered. My own extracts from it, longer and shorter, are so many that I have not attempted to indicate them by references to chapter and page. Next, I have consulted the late Canon A. W. Brown s Becollections of Simeon!s Conversation Parties, published in 1862; a book pleasantly written, full of personal details, and supplying a picture of one important part of Mr Simeon slabours fuller than that given by Canon Cams. I have also used a short Memoir by the Rev.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book tells the story of Charles Simeon, an influential religious figure in England during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Born into a wealthy family, Simeon experienced a profound religious conversion while studying at Cambridge University. Inspired by this experience, he dedicated his life to serving the poor and marginalized, and became the minister of Trinity Church in Cambridge for over 50 years. Simeon's ministry was marked by a deep commitment to evangelicalism, and he played a key role in the Clapham Sect, a group of influential religious reformers. He was also a prolific author, publishing over 2,000 sermons and other works that promoted his beliefs. Simeon's impact on the religious landscape of England was significant, and he is remembered as one of the most important figures in the evangelical movement of the 19th century. His writings and sermons continue to be read and studied by Christians around the world, and his legacy as a tireless advocate for the poor and disadvantaged remains an inspiration to this day.
