The writer and sailor Yann Nibor focuses on rustic life and particularly on the lives of local sailors, evoking images of coastal France and the rugged lives of those who made their living from the sea in the era. A maritime historical snapshot and a literary work in its own right, this volume sheds light on the vanishing way of life for 19th century seafarers.
