Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book, an assemblage of exegeses of medieval poetry of varied forms, provides a deep dive into the worldview of courtly love within 12th and 13th century Germany. The author argues convincingly that the development of Minnesang and courtly love was a complex phenomenon, influenced by many strands of thought and practice that were operating in Europe at the time. The depth of research is captivating, but accessible to the lay reader, providing fresh insights into a time when the idealization of women ushered in new forms of art, social and religious expression. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N de rf. du vendeur 9780259399841_0
