This book is a 16th-century poem that remembers the Battle of Flodden Field, a conflict that took place on the 9th of September 1513, between the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England. It tells the tale of how the King of Scotland, James the Fourth, led an army into England, intending on capturing the border fortresses of Norham and Wark. It further recounts how the English, under the leadership of the Earl of Surrey, marched north to meet their advance. The two armies met at Flodden, where the English gained a decisive victory. King James IV and many of the Scottish nobility were killed in the battle and it is considered to be one of the worst defeats in the history of Scotland. The poem provides unique insights into the era, it's political landscape, and the nature of conflict in 16th-century Britain.
