Excerpt from Pleasure With Plants
The beginner in botanizing should master this technique, at least to the minimum extent suggested in later paragraphs but preferably in its full detail. There is a reason for each of its requirements; but it is a lenient technique, with much lee way for adaptation to individual needs. As the botanizer progresses in his work with plants, he is likely to find that no small part of his pleasure comes directly from his mastery of technique.
