Thus it is seen, that so far as two of the four standard dis locations Of the femur are concerned, I specified the anterior and inferior half of the capsule (which includes the ilio femoral or Y ligament), as the sole agent which gives char acter to those dislocations, and, with the exception of the fascia lata, the only obstacle to be overcome by our efiorts to reduce them. Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book challenges certain long-held beliefs about the causes and appropriate treatments for hip and shoulder joint dislocations. The author presents a series of well-reasoned and evidence-supported arguments, questioning the traditional view that muscle activity is the primary obstacle to reducing these dislocations. Through careful observation and experimentation, the author demonstrates that the untorn portion of the capsular ligamentâ"a structure that has been largely overlooked in the pastâ"may in fact play a more significant role. This fresh perspective has important implications for the development of more effective and less invasive treatment approaches for these common injuries.
