Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the world of surgery as it was practiced in the mid-19th century, a time when the field was undergoing a period of rapid advancement. The author, a prominent surgeon of his day, sought to capture the state of surgical science in its "present advanced condition" by offering a comprehensive guide to operative techniques. He meticulously describes a wide array of procedures, from basic wound care to complex amputations and even the removal of tumors. The book distinguishes itself from other surgical treatises of the era by placing a strong emphasis on visual representation. The author includes an extensive collection of detailed illustrations, aiming to make each operation readily understandable to students. The author's commitment to visual clarity reflects a broader trend in medical education during this period, where anatomical illustrations and anatomical models played a crucial role in disseminating knowledge. The book goes beyond a simple catalog of surgical procedures, exploring the underlying principles of surgery and its relationship to anatomical knowledge. The author carefully considers the surgical anatomy of the parts involved in each operation, providing readers with a deeper understanding of the delicate interplay between surgical technique and human anatomy. The work demonstrates the importance of a precise knowledge of anatomy in the practice of surgery, a key concept that continues to shape the field today. The book offers a unique window into the world of 19th-century surgery, revealing both the progress and the limitations of the field at that time. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9780260234605_0
