Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book offers a detailed exploration of a section of Canadian terrain that comprises the Duck and Riding Mountains and the Assiniboine Valley. The author, a geologist, used surveys and his own observations to document the region's topography, drainage systems, and geology. Its publication in the late 1800s provided early insight into the physical geography of this part of Western Canada. The book discusses seasonal variations, including summer frosts and the influential role of wind patterns, which have implications for agriculture and settlement. It also examines the region's history, including the formation of ancient lakes and the scouring effects of glaciers during the ice age. Local Indigenous populations and their traditional hunting grounds are also discussed, as are the challenges of farming in the region and its potential for agricultural development. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N de rf. du vendeur 9780260416605_0
