In the first 3 months of 1959 inedible tallow production was up by 11 percent from to 3m.o million pounds. In this same period edible tallow production dropped from to million pounds. Although cattle slaughter in Canada dropped 13 percent during january-march 1959, compared to the same period in 1958, increased production by rendering plants resulted in the million pound greater output of tallow.
