Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book explores the role of local community leaders in 4-H Clubs in New Hampshire. The author, who has over a decade of experience as a local leader in 4-H himself, conducted a survey of over 150 volunteer 4-H leaders in the region to better understand their experiences. The survey asked leaders about their motivations for volunteering, the challenges they faced, and what aspects of leadership were most rewarding to them. The study revealed that most leaders experienced difficulty with only a few leadership tasks and that those tasks varied depending on whether the leader was male or female. The author also found that leaders received the greatest satisfaction from opportunities to help young people and that successful leaders tended to have a more balanced distribution of time spent on different leadership tasks. This book provides valuable insights into the rewarding and challenging world of volunteer leadership and will help inform the efforts of 4-H organizers, youth development professionals, and anyone interested in the vital role of volunteers in their communities.
