Excerpt from The Laws of Insurance: Fire, Life, Accident, and Guarantee; Embodying Cases in the English, Scotch, Irish, American, Australian, and Canadian Courts
None of the English writers on the Law of Insurance treat in one volume of Life, Fire, and Accident Insurance; and, moreover, important principles of the Law - such as Subrogation and Indemnity - have been much elucidated by recent decisions. It has therefore seemed to the author that a book of moderate size, con taining in one volume the Whole Law of Insurance (excepting Marine), viz Life, Fire, Accident, and Guarantee Insurance, might at the present time be for the convenience of the profession.
