Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book provides a comprehensive examination of the process for appointing a court officer, including assistant clerks, stenographers, and attendants in New York State. The author, a prominent member of the Surrogates Revision Commission, introduces the revised sections of the Code of Civil Procedure 2493 and 2496 which extend these powers to Bronx County and clarifies the appointments of stenographers. Several sections of the Surrogates Code have also been revised to remove any inconsistencies between the two and create enhanced coordination. Significant changes in the law and practice are laid out and analyzed to address a gap in information pertaining to the Surrogates Act of 1914. Earlier case references are given to offer a historical context as to how and why certain amendments and revisions were made. The author considers the impact of these revised codes and presents a lucid interpretation of the extended jurisdiction granted by Section 2510, which will be of particular interest to legal practitioners and students of law.
