Stephen Pilbeam

is a Principal Lecturer in HRM and the Course Director for the Personnel Management Programmes at the University of Portsmouth Business School. He has extensive teaching experience both in the UK and abroad and specialises in people resourcing and reward strategy. Stephen is a Fellow of the CIPD and serves on the CIPD Quality Assurance Panel.

Marjorie Corbridge is a Principal Lecturer in HRM and the Associate Dean (Curriculum Development) at the University of Portsmouth Business School. She is a Corporate Member of the CIPD and has undertaken many consultancy projects. Marjorie�??s interests are focused on changes in th HR role, E-HR, the practitioner as a business partner and the business applications of HR information systems.

The authors combine academic and practitioner experience to synthesise theory and practice.
