Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book centers on the fascinating biography of Pieter van der Aa, a highly influential Dutch bookseller and publisher who lived from the late 17th into the early 18th century. Van der Aa's imprint is most notably featured in the publication of several Dutch collections of standard works in history and antiquities. In these collections, mostly comprised of hundreds of volumes each, the author took a collaborative role alongside many others. Van der Aa played a key role in the development of Dutch publishing and bookselling during a time when the field was undergoing significant developments. Through his leadership, works that may have otherwise remained unpublished made their way into broad circulation. By presenting a detailed and thoroughly-researched account of this pivotal figure's life and work, this book contributes to our understanding of the history of publishing and bookselling in the Netherlands and beyond. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9780282293116_0
