Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is a manual of orthodontic practice which began from the author's personal notes used in his classes and, at the request of several prominent dentists, was expanded for publication. The book was written from actual working notes and is evidence of the care with which the author practiced. Following an introductory section, the book is divided into three parts. The first of these deals with irregularities of single or small groups of teeth, both upper and lower. In this part the author discusses such topics as diagnosis and prognosis, instruments, and classification of mechanisms, and stresses the importance of consulting with experts and of explaining the treatment in detail to the patient or parents of young patients. The second part of the book deals with irregularities of teeth in groups and corrects dental irregularities according to nature's plan. The third part, devoted to major operations, considers correction of protruding teeth, esthetics in dentistry, and classifying mechanisms of all varieties and kinds. The author includes a pictorial index of the mechanisms presented.
