Vac think it within th'' range of possibility that a whole com munity of priests, possessing single blessedness, in communion with women similarly situated,should corrupt the women,bound by oaths to obey in all things; and we think a young priest so situated, frequently confessing a beautiful youn v nun similarly situated in a room where none dared to enter; t at in most ca ses the natural passions would prevail over every other feeling. But that all the nun; should enter in ignorance of this state of things, and expecting the mortilication of such passions, and the exercise of personal piety, that these should be immediately immersed into involuntary voluptumisness of the grossest kind, involving child-murder in anticipation, and that several of these should not make their escape and declare it to the world, 18 al most incredible; especially as most of these young women are really very pious, and in sincerity take the veil; that such per sons should se act, without frequent efl''orts to escape, greatly increases the incredibility.
