Explore the structure and duties of the two great priesthoods in early church history, with clear, practical explanations and period context.

This issue surveys the Melchisedek and Aaronic Priesthoods, outlining their origins, duties, and interdependencies. It includes a detailed excerpt from a 1835 revelation that defines the keys, offices, and governance of church leadership, including how bishops relate to the broader priesthood. The topic is presented in plain language to help readers understand how spiritual authority and earthly administration fit together in Zion’s development.

In addition to priesthood material, the issue features a travel portrait of Iceland and a concise study of Abraham, offering historical questions, scriptural references, and reflections on education, culture, and the shaping of nations. The mix provides both doctrinal grounding and broader historical commentary from the same period.
What you’ll experience

Plain explanations of the two priesthoods and their roles in church government
Clarifications on bishoprics, lineage, and how leadership is appointed
A profile of Icelandic society and its education, literacy, and cultural life
Short historical notes on Abraham and related biblical interpretation
