Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book offers a compilation of important historical sources documenting the religious, feudal, communal, and industrial development of Roubaix, a town in northern France. Drawn from ecclesiastical and state archives, these sources, presented in Latin and French, illuminate the town's diverse past from the ninth to the nineteenth centuries. The collection features excerpts from papal bulls, royal charters, and local records, providing valuable insights into Roubaix's evolution from a small rural settlement to a thriving industrial center. Through these documents, readers will gain a rich understanding of Roubaix's medieval origins, its ecclesiastical affiliations, its feudal relationships, its communal organization, and its role in the region's economic development, making this book an indispensable resource for scholars, local historians, and anyone interested in the history of northern France.
