Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book reports on the author's study of the fine structure of the H-alpha line using a novel experimental setup. Previous studies of this line showed only doublet separation, but the author hypothesized that additional components could be observed using a small Lummer plate as an auxiliary dispersion spectroscope used in tandem with a large Lummer plate. After creating a custom shutter to block one component, the author was able to obtain microphotometer curves of the pattern given by the larger Lummer plate. These curves showed asymmetry and very little saddle height, indicating the potential presence of three components. The author concludes that this improved experimental method may pave the way for future studies to definitively demonstrate the presence of the third component to confirm the theory of hydrogen's line H-alpha. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9780282865825_0
