Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is an in-depth account of the history and antiquities of the Diocese of Down and Connor in Ireland. The four previous volumes, which treated each parish separately, are here completed with a detailed history of the Bishops of the Diocese. It brings a close to the author's labours on the history and antiquities of the historic Irish diocese. The author presents here the fruits of his extensive research, consulting every printed book likely to throw light on his subject, as well as carefully reading through the Manuscript Registries of the Primates in Catholic times. The efforts of the author have yielded significant results, as numerous previously unpublished documents provide new historical insights. This volume is an essential reference for anyone interested in the history of the Church in Ireland. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
