This book places the elements that constitute speech and the uses to which they may be put under the scrutiny of science, giving the reader a complete course of instruction in elocution. By reducing each element of speech to its component parts and viewing these parts in relation to each other, the author presents a novel system of classifying the physical properties of spoken language according to their characteristics.
