Throughout the text, the author challenges the merits of Odd Fellowship using the society's own published materials. The author presents ten objections to the Odd Fellows Society, beginning with its childish ceremonies and ridiculous names and continuing through to its secrecy and general harm to community. He argues that its rules render the applicant subject to malicious slander and gossip, its pledge to the rules is an abuse of the Christian sacrament, and its charitable aims are hollow. The author suggests that Odd Fellowship does not foster Christian principles and is harmful to religious values. He accuses the Odd Fellows Society of profanation and immorality, concluding that it is inconsistent with true Christian devotion.
