Synopsis
Designed by a team led by the man responsible for the wartime Lancaster, instantly recognisable, colossal, incredibly noisy, vastly powerful and irresistibly beautiful in its white delta wing, the Vulcan was Britain's independent nuclear deterrent platform through the 1950s and 60s. When the Bomb went beneath the waves with Trident in 1969, the Vulcan remained in service with the RAF as a tactical bomber, last used in anger in a long distance raid on the Falklands in 1982. This book offers a complete technical and service history of what was a remarkable, unique aircraft.
