Synopsis

Who wants to kill Marissa Gray? After Marissa, a beautiful young journalist who recently returned to her once-sleepy hometown of Aurora Falls from Chicago, nearly dies when her car slides down an embankment one icy night, she's convinced someone is trying to murder her. After all, what else would explain the tall, horrifyingly masked figure who suddenly appeared in front of her car, causing her to swerve off the road? The only problem is, no one else - including Marissa's older sister, Catherine, and her ex-fiance, Chief Deputy Eric Montgomery - believes her. Forced to investigate on her own, Marissa digs into the town's turbulent past, returning once more to the night five years ago when she saw Dillon Archer shove her best friend, Eric's younger sister Gretchen, off the balcony of an abandoned church. No one believed her then, either, but now Marissa is convinced the mistakes of Aurora Falls' past are coming back to haunt them. One by one, old friends who were involved that night start to turn up dead...can Marissa and Eric see eye-to-eye long enough to stop a sinister killer from burying his secrets forever?
