À propos de la quatrième de couverture

Susan Ford, daughter of Former President Gerald R. Ford, brings her White House insider perspective to this sparkling debut novel, the first in a series of First Daughter mysteries. In Double Exposure, Ford introduces photographer Eve Cooper, daughter of the newly elected President, as she is swept into killer politics in Washington, DC...

Double Exposure

Eve and her family have barely settled into their new surroundings after the Inauguration when chaos and scandal erupt. White House photographer Michael Cauffman is taking Eve's picture in the Rose Garden when they stumble upon a corpse in the snow. It's one of the White House ushers and in his pocket is a torn photograph of an unclad and unidentified couple in the Lincoln bedroom-clearly involved in very unofficial activities. The story (complete with photos) is on the front page of The Washington Post, and the press is in a feeding frenzy. With the help of Michael, Eve sets out to clear her father, the President, by discovering exactly who took those pictures, and when, and why. As Eve closes in on the truth, she opens a vast Pandora's box of new troubles, both public and private. As the body count rises, Eve must race against the clock to find a killer who will stop at nothing to compromise the President...

À propos de la deuxième de couverture

Secret Service agent Seybold's left eye twitched as he faced the President.

"It's the personal effects of the deceased, sir. He had the usual: wallet, checkbook, cell phone. He also had an empty medicine bottle, evidently something he took for his heart condition. The police gave all these things to Burton with the exception of one item."

"What item?" Dad and I asked simultaneously.

Seybold glanced at me as if he'd forgotten I was there.

He colored slightly, then reached into his pocket and brought out a scrap of paper. It was a torn piece of a photo. "He had this on his person. Luckily, the lead investigator realized the possible political implications and turned it over to me as a matter of national security."

Dad motioned for me to come over and I stood behind his chair, peering over his shoulder. It was a black-and-white glossy photo of a man and a woman. You could see most of her naked body and enough of his to understand which position of the Kama Sutra they were trying...

Seybold pulled a small, square magnifying lens from his jacket pocket and handed it to my father.

"If you'll look at the rug and this part of the table."

Dad and I stared at the photo, using the magnifying glass.

My supper started doing flip-flops in my stomach. I was pretty sure I recognized the flower pattern in the rug...

I looked up at my dad. "It's the Lincoln Bedroom."
