Synopsis
Critical pathways were developed in the US to ensure that all patients receiving treatment for a certain condition received exactly the same treatment. They contain step-by-step instructions detailing what each member of the team needs to do on certain days. This text is unique in its integrative approach to rehabilitation. Pulling together diverse disease and concepts from sports medicine, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, ergonomics, geriatrics, kinesiology and physiotherapy, each chapter represents a comprehensive literature review of the specific pathologies which are most commonly encountered. The case study format simulates the signs and symptoms observed and measured during an actual examination. The subsequent question and answer format is logically organised, so the concepts emerge in a step-by-step flow of ideas. Each chapter is independent of other chapters, all with an interactive approach.
