Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents transcripts of the Preston Guild Rolls from 1397 to 1682, offering a fascinating glimpse into the medieval and early modern history of the town of Preston, England. The Guilds were held every twenty years and served as a means of regulating the town's governance, admitting new burgesses, and updating the town's laws. The book also includes the Guild Orders, which provide valuable insights into the social, economic, and political life of Preston during this period. This book is a valuable resource for historians, genealogists, and anyone interested in the history of medieval and early modern England.
