The memoir from which we take this information gives us to understand that, after a series of difficulties to be overcome, and jealousies to be encountered, demanding the most indomit able courage and perseverance, Dr. Moss at last succeeded in opening the present Hospital towards the termination of the year 1757, six years from the laying of its foundation-stone, when the original charity in George''s-lane was closed.
