Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book investigates the previously uncharted phenomenon of chromium trioxide sublimation. The author begins by noting that despite earlier observations indicating the oxide could be sublimed, there existed no clarity or understanding of the circumstances surrounding its volatilization. They set out to isolate the factors influencing this process through a series of controlled experiments. Their findings demonstrate that anhydrous chromium trioxide sublimates just above its melting point, with the rate increasing rapidly before reaching a plateau where it proceeds at a slower rate. This slowdown coincides with the oxide solidifying due to oxygen loss. A rapid increase in sublimation occurs again at higher temperatures (dull red heat), with the last of the trioxide vaporizing only at bright red heat. These observations provide valuable insights into the behavior of chromium trioxide under varying conditions, expanding our understanding of its physical properties. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9780331672299_0
