Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents a catalog of variable stars found in globular clusters, which are densely packed collections of stars. Variable stars within globular clusters are important because they provide insights into the evolution of stars, and the vast majority of them belong to the RR Lyrae class of pulsating variable stars. This catalog was compiled using data from over 190 published references, some of which include charts to help identify the cataloged variables. The author, an accomplished astronomer, has also used unpublished correspondence to create the most comprehensive and up-to-date catalog of its kind. Among globular clusters, Messier 3 is particularly rich in variable stars, and this book includes a cross-referencing of variable stars in Messier 3 with catalog numbers from a previous, related work. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9780332273495_0
