Synopsis
This pocket guide to the identification of 91 bird species comments on distribution, size and description, variations by age group, flight identification and rare variations. The 88 colour plates help the beginner to solve the most difficult problems of identification, and there are bibliographies on each species included. The author is a member of the British Birds Rarities Committee and the artist, Alan Harris, is joint Art Consultant to "British Birds" magazine. He was awarded the title Bird Illustrator of the Year in 1980.
