A gentle, objects-early introduction to C++. In response to readers' feedback, this textbook offers organizational flexibility and expanded topical coverage. Topics such as recursion, polymorphism, inheritance, STL and a focus on object-oriented software development make this suitable as a first programming text. A large scale software project (cashless jukebox) is threaded throughout the latter part of the book. Supplements are provided on an instructor's disk available from Macmillan Press.
