Hardback. Etat : Very Good - See Description. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. Astra Lacis (illustrateur). First Edition. 1976. First edition. 184pp., a map on the endpapers and black and white illustrations by Astra Lacis. Anne Farrell is an Australian author, born in Tasmania in 1954. She is probably best known for her childrens books and pony stories, and in particular the Guara/Mitchell Family series that is set in Tasmania on a cattle farm and centred around the lives of the Mitchell children, Lesley, Val, David and Ian. In Eight Days at Guara their parents leave for the Australian mainland to buy a bull, and the plans they made to look after the farm and children go astray. The youngsters find themselves left to cope alone with the farm for 8 days. Can they manage.and can they keep it a secret from any adults who would spoil their adventure? The book is bound in the original olive-green boards with gold titling on the spine. This is an ex-library copy and has the usual library marks and stamps. The case of the book is in very good condition with bumping to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean apart from a few small marks and stains and with the following library indications: tape stains down the fore edge of the front and rear fixed endpapers, remains of a large label on the front fixed endpaper and of smaller labels on the front free endpaper, a large 'withdrawn' stamp on the list of other works by the author that faces the title-page, a small stamp on the title-page, a stamp with reference numbers on the back of the title-page, and a stamp with reference numbers on the bottom of the last page of text. The dustwrapper is very good with light shelf wear and slight fading to the spine. The spine ends and top corners are bumped with a little wear to the top front corner. The front flap appears to have been slightly trimmed and has a publisher's price sticker near the bottom corner. N° de réf. du vendeur gChildFarrell01
