Biographie de l'auteur

Val Biro lives in West Sussex with his wife. He was born in Hungary and trained as an artist in Budapest before coming to London to study at the Central School. He worked in publishing before coming a freelance illustrator and starting this popular series based on the real Gumdrop, his own Austin 12/4 Heavy, 1926.

Mr Oldcastle and his grandson Dan set off for Mildew Manor - the sort of place you would expect a ghost to appear. The first one they meet is revealed as Marmaduke Ricketty-Cobwebb, owner of the Manor, dressed up to scare visitors. But then Gumdrop finds a real ghost - a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost!
