Biographie de l'auteur

Val Biro lives in West Sussex with his wife. He was born in Hungary and trained as an artist in Budapest before coming to London to study at the Central School. He worked in publishing before coming a freelance illustrator and starting this popular series based on the real Gumdrop, his own Austin 12/4 Heavy, 1926.

Gumdrop has had many owners and eventually ends up in the scrapyard. He is found by Mr Oldcastle, who recognizes Gumdrop as the car he fell in love with as a seven-year-old boy. Mr Oldcastle's dream has come true and their life of adventure together can begin.
