Each double page spread contains a series of questions to test the content of the spread. The questions are varied and include discussion questions, research, planning of experimental procedures and consolidation of prior learning. The questions clearly reflect the fact that the book is aimed at higher tier pupils and provide excellent extension material.
At the end of each section are series of activities. Again the activities are interesting and varied, consisting of comprehension exercises and excellent ICT activities...
My pupils' reactions to the book was very favourable. In particular they liked the use of colour to highlight the questions and the high quality diagrams...

The content is well spread out, with plenty of coloured illustrations and a summary at the end of each section. I really liked the frequent boxed study questions, which can be used to provide homework, and the range of activities for each section...

Primarily focused at Higher tier candidates, the book covers separate chemistry and the chemistry component of Single and Double Award Science.
