Synopsis
Mark Bles led a group of six climbers of mixed ability from the SAS reserve and the Scots Guards to the Alps in the summer of 1993. Their aim was to climb as many of the 4000-metre peaks as they could manage before the weather put a stop to their bid and, incidentally, to raise money for cot death research. "In Search of Limits" is not just a chronology of peakbagging. After nearly 600 kms and 60,000 metres of ascent, it celebrates the exhilaration, the fears, the risks and the pressures of climbing in the world's most accessible and popular mountaineering playground.
